Shed Steel Structure

Updated: Apr 20, 2020

I designed the entire structure on paper, and made up the steel sections on the ground over the past couple weeks. The I-beam columns were to be secured using anchor cages in footings. I laid strip foundations this week, integrated with the column footings. I then erected the columns onto the anchor cage bolts, ensured they were all vertical by adjusting the 4 anchor bolts, then raised the I-beam rafters onto the columns using a very dodgy contraption bolted to the front loader of my tractor. Health and Safety would NOT be impressed with the maneuver, but no animals or humans were killed or injured during the process... Steel lipped channel braced the structure as purlins and sheeting supports.
